Job summary

Summit Health is seeking a Workers’ Compensation Coordinator to schedule compensation appointments and coordinate referrals between CityMD and Summit Health. The role involves authorizations, pre-authorizations, and patient data entry in Athena, with interaction across payers, employers, and patients.

Ideal candidates have scheduling or call center experience, familiarity with Salesforce and Referwell, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Experience with scheduling and workers’ compensation processes.
• Call center experience desirable.
• Experience working with payer contacts (nurse case managers, adjusters).
• Proficiency with Salesforce, Athena, Referwell or Epic.
• Bilingual in Spanish a plus.

Responsibilities

• Schedule Workers’ Compensation appointments promptly and coordinate referrals.
• Obtain initial authorizations to treat and pre-authorizations from payer contacts.
• Build and maintain patient Athena chart with accurate policy and authorization data.
• Verify intake forms and engage patients to complete them when needed.
• Communicate with patients and payers via phone and email in a professional manner.
• Coordinate outreach to employers, adjusters, and nurse case managers.
• Handle inbound/outbound calls and emails regarding referrals and appointments.
• Reschedule cancelled appointments and inform relevant parties.
• Collaborate with Summit Health and CityMD teams to ensure compliance.
• Use Salesforce and Referwell to track referrals and appointment status.
