Job summary

Schwan’s Company is seeking a Workers’ Compensation Specialist to support administration of its workers’ compensation programs and partner with employees, leaders, medical providers and insurers to ensure timely claim resolution and return-to-work outcomes.

You’ll administer claims, track progress, prepare reports, and negotiate within authority while maintaining compliance with regulations and company policies. A related degree and certification progress are preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience in workers’ compensation, disability management, leave administration, HR, safety, insurance, or related field.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• MS Office Suite and Outlook proficiency.
• Effective interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
• Certification as a Workers’ Compensation Claim Law Specialist preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administer workers’ compensation claims, ensuring timely management and resolution.
• Collaborate with insurance carriers, medical providers, employees, Safety, HR and Operations.
• Track, manage, and document claims using case management systems and support testing.
• Coordinate return-to-work plans and monitor claim progress.
• Support investigations, rehabilitation, loss prevention, and required documentation.
• Ensure compliance with workers’ compensation regulations, ADA and leave laws.
• Prepare reports and analyze safety data, including OSHA reporting.
• Negotiate and document moderately complex claims within authority.
• Promote company values, ethics, and conduct standards.
