Responsibilities

• Provide litigation support to one attorney.
• Manage client files.
• Draft pleadings, correspondence, and other documents as directed.
• Prepare and file pleadings and other legal documents.
• Monitor case schedules and filing deadlines.
• Prepare discovery requests and responses.
• Assist in trial preparation, including hearing exhibits and wage loss schedules.
• Respond to inquiries from clients, counsel, and the court.
• Organize and maintain case files and documentation electronically.
• Contribute to the team with related tasks and projects as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Meshbesher and Spence LTD is seeking an experienced workers ‘compensation paralegal with at least 2 years of experience to join our growing team. The ideal candidate must be able to handle various tasks at one time, while maintaining a high attention to detail and accuracy. The ideal candidate will have great time management, professional communication skills and organizational skills. Candidate must be able to work independently and have a desire to assume significant responsibility.

• Providing litigation support to one attorney
• Managing client files
• Drafting legal pleadings, correspondence, and other documents as directed
• Preparing and filing pleadings and other legal documents
• Monitoring case schedules and filing deadlines
• Preparing discovery requests and responses
• Assisting in trial preparation, including hearing exhibits, wage loss and average weekly wage schedules
• Responding to inquiries from and interacting with clients, counsel, and the court
• Organizing and maintaining case files and documentation, electronically
• Contributing to the team effort by accomplishing related results and participating on projects as needed
• Other duties as assigned.

Prior workers’ compensation work experience required. Recent experience in a workers’ compensation setting within the last two years preferred.
