Job summary

Simon Property Group is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician for Clarksburg Premium Outlets. The role involves inspecting and repairing mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems throughout the property.

The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years of building maintenance experience and be capable of performing tasks such as painting, drywall repair, and custodial duties. A high school diploma or GED is preferred along with a valid driver’s license.

Job description

Job Location: Clarksburg Premium Outlets

Responsibilities
  • Routinely inspect the facility, troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, air conditioning, and plumbing systems, as well as structural elements on the property.
  • Perform a variety of maintenance and minor repair activities on interior and exterior areas, including painting, drywall, structural repairs, parking lot and sidewalk maintenance, plumbing repairs, drain clearing, and lighting maintenance (lamp, fuse, and ballast replacement).
  • Operate equipment to execute preventive maintenance, minor repairs, and keep the property clean.
  • Assist other departments, including Marketing in setting up events and Local Leasing with cart placement and repair.
  • Comply with all applicable standards, policies, and regulatory guidelines (e.g., OSHA) to promote a safe working environment.
  • Schedule and perform preventive maintenance programs as assigned by management.
  • Maintain inventory systems, records, and material safety data sheets; manage supplies, equipment, and tools.
  • Periodically inspect air handling units, tighten or replace belts, replace filters and grease components, and maintain logs to document activity.
  • Perform exterior custodial duties as needed: sweeping sidewalks, wet mopping, operating steam cleaner, operating hand vacuum, collecting trash, emptying receptacles, and operating compactor and turntables.
  • May perform additional maintenance duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred; technical school certifications and/or training preferred.
  • Minimum 2–3 years of building maintenance experience, including carpentry, HVAC, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing functions.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents, plans, schematic drawings, and instructions.
  • Ability to effectively present information to departmental management, employees, tenants, and outside contacts.
  • Ability to apply common sense and problem‑solve using information furnished in written or oral form.
  • Skilled in paint, electrical, plumbing, and drywall work.
  • Self‑starter capable of working independently.
  • Ability to diagnose problems on equipment.
  • Knowledge of basic electrical systems.
  • Knowledge of safety rules, hazards, and accident prevention measures.
  • Basic knowledge of fire protection hydraulic and alarm systems.
  • Availability to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
