Job summary

Vanta is seeking a highly skilled People Systems Administrator to own the Workday design and configuration across modules, including Core HCM, Payroll, Benefits, and Absence. You will partner with People, Payroll, Finance, IT, and Legal to deliver scalable solutions and drive adoption.

You will lead complex configurations, manage security and changes, and continuously optimize processes to stay ahead of the Workday roadmap while ensuring audit and compliance requirements are met.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in HRIS/People Systems, including significant hands-on Workday configuration and administration.
• Demonstrated depth in Payroll, Benefits, or Absence, with working knowledge of others; Workday certification preferred.
• Strong command of Workday BP framework, security configuration, and calculated fields.
• Proven experience owning complex systems initiatives end to end.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills; translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills; able to work independently and across teams.
• Authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Own the design and configuration of the Workday platform across modules.
• Lead configurations across Core HCM, Payroll, Benefits, Absence, and Time Tracking, including security groups and calculated fields.
• Serve as the primary technical expert for Workday enhancements and cross-functional collaboration.
• Build administration frameworks: security roles, tenant management, change control, testing, and documentation.
• Design reusable, scalable solutions to prevent recurring issues.
• Own change management: plan communications, training, enablement, and adoption measurement.
