Job summary

The University of Washington Information Technology department is seeking a Workday Senior Security Engineer to enhance security for UW’s Finance, HR, and Payroll processes and data. The role focuses on design, development, and secure configuration of Workday security while coordinating with internal teams and external groups.

Responsibilities include analyzing complex security requirements, implementing robust security options, and maintaining documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Information Science, Computer Science or related field or experience.
• Four years of security framework development experience.
• Knowledge of information security, privacy frameworks, and compliance requirements.
• Understanding of Workday or similar ERP security.
• Ability to facilitate problem-solving in a customer-service framework.
• Experience with data reporting and integration implications.
• Excellent written/oral communication and technical documentation skills.
• Experience with system testing and data validation.

Responsibilities

• Provide options for robust design, development and implementation of Workday Security functionality.
• Conduct systems analysis and identify enhancement opportunities for complex Workday security configurations.
• Analyze evolving Workday Security functionality and its impact on business processes and reporting.
• Collaborate with partner organizations to ensure data is accessed securely and meets UW needs.
• Coordinate with stakeholders across HCM, Benefits, Finance and Payroll.
• Maintain thorough documentation on security procedures and train the team.
• Support security training and customer training activities.
• Stay up-to-date on CIS, NIST, ISO security standards.
