Job summary

Hale International seeks an experienced Workday Project Manager to lead a critical HCM and Financials implementation for a higher-education client. This standalone, delivery-focused PM role requires bringing governance, structure and momentum to an in-flight project.

Ideal candidates have proven Workday/ERP delivery experience in higher education settings, embracing risk management, schedule discipline, and cross-team collaboration with internal and external partners.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading complex Workday or ERP implementations.
• Experience in higher education/public-sector education implementations is essential.
• Experience managing both HCM and Financials workstreams is strongly preferred.
• Strong RAID, governance, planning and budget/change-order management.
• Confident working with senior stakeholders, functional SMEs and external implementation partners.
• Experience supporting change management, training and organisational readiness.

• Manage the delivery plan across Workday HCM and Financials workstreams.
• Track and proactively manage risks, issues, dependencies, decisions and actions.
• Maintain implementation and team schedules, ensuring milestones and deliverables remain on track.
• Manage project finances, resources, change orders and associated budget impacts.
• Lead stakeholder management and ensure alignment across internal teams, implementation partners and leadership.
• Partner with the change-management and training workstreams to support readiness and adoption.
• Capture new issues, route them to the appropriate decision-makers and ensure timely resolution.
• Work within established project governance, ensuring decisions are made with the right stakeholders.
• Help operationalise and scale delivery processes to improve project quality and control.
• Hold the implementation partner accountable for delivery, timelines and agreed outcomes.

Workday Project Manager – HCM & Financials | 12–18-Month Contract

Hale International is seeking an experienced Workday Project Manager to lead a critical HCM and Financials implementation project for an education-sector client.

This is a standalone, delivery-focused PM role for someone who can bring structure, governance and momentum to an in-flight project.

Higher education implementation experience is essential. Experience supporting a university, college, school or public-sector education organisation through a complex ERP or Workday implementation is highly sought after.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the delivery plan across Workday HCM and Financials workstreams.
• Track and proactively manage risks, issues, dependencies, decisions and actions.
• Maintain implementation and team schedules, ensuring milestones and deliverables remain on track.
• Manage project finances, resources, change orders and associated budget impacts.

• Experience managing both HCM and Financials workstreams is strongly preferred.
• Strong RAID, governance, planning, budget and change-order management experience.
• Confident working with senior stakeholders, functional SMEs and external implementation partners.
• Proactive approach, with the ability to identify potential delivery issues early and drive them through to resolution.
• Experience supporting change management, training and organisational readiness activity.
• Remote, with up to 25% travel; all travel will be covered by the client.
• 30–40 hours per week.
• Initial 12–18-month contract.
• Target start: no later than December.
