Job summary

The City of Seattle is seeking a Workday Integration Engineer to design, build, and support integrations connecting Workday HCM and Payroll with internal systems. You’ll join a collaborative Seattle IT team supporting HR and payroll processes across the city.

This role requires hands-on experience with Workday tools (EIBs, Studio, APIs), Oracle/SQL Server, and API/XML standards. The position offers a hybrid schedule and opportunities to work on secure, scalable integrations for City employees

Qualifications

• Four or more years of technical experience with increasing complexity.
• Experience integrating systems with third-party service vendors.
• Hands-on Workday integrations experience (EIBs, Studio, APIs, ICC, reports, calculated fields).
• Expertise in Workday custom reporting and inbound/outbound EIBs.
• Experience with Oracle/SQL Server or similar database.
• Knowledge of SOA, APIs, XML, XSLT, and secure data exchange.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop Workday integrations for HCM and Payroll processes.
• Build & Test Integrations using Workday tools (EIBs, Studio, APIs).
• Monitor integration health and resolve issues across systems.
• Conduct root-cause analysis and improve error handling and performance.
• Create clear documentation and collaborate with downstream teams.
