The City of Baytown is seeking a Traffic Control Specialist to oversee traffic flow in construction and maintenance zones. You will set up devices, direct traffic, and coordinate with crew to keep workers and the public safe.

Required training includes TEEX/IMSA safety programs, a TX Class B CDL, and a high school diploma. This role involves on-call duties for emergencies and a path from entry to advanced levels with increasing responsibilities.

Formación

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record (TX license required within 90 days).
• TX Class B CDL or must obtain within six months of date in position.
• Complete TEEX or IMSA Work Zone Safety Training within 12 months.

Responsabilidades

• Installs and replaces signage, including street markers, traffic control and information signs.
• Sets out work zones for job sites in accordance with TMUTCD and MUTCD.
• Receives and stocks traffic control device materials and supplies; maintains signs, barricades and signals.
• Paints or applies traffic control markings on streets, parking lots, and curbs.
• Installs, repairs, and maintains traffic control signals, beacons, and safety lighting.
• Performs preventive maintenance on service trucks and cleans the shop.
• On-call periodically for emergency traffic-control needs.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
