Job summary

MasTec Communications Group is seeking a Traffic Control Technician in California to help manage work zone traffic with a strong emphasis on safety and compliance. The role involves setting up and maintaining traffic control devices, directing vehicle movement, and ensuring.

Qualified candidates will have MUTCD knowledge, 1 year of experience in traffic control, and the ability to work nights and weekends, with a valid driver's license and DOT medical card.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience in traffic control
• Knowledge of the MUTCD guidelines and how to apply them on site
• Knowledge of safety rules for construction sites
• 500 hours of experience in traffic control flagging
• Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays if needed
• Valid driver's license and ability to obtain a DOT Medical Card

Responsibilities

• Maintain safety-focused operations across the work zone.
• Distribute traffic control signs and markers along the site in a designated pattern.
• Direct vehicle flow using signs, hand signals and flagging.
• Keep equipment organized and in working order in the site trucks.
• Record license numbers of traffic violators and assist with incident reports
