Job summary

MasTec Communications Group is seeking a Traffic Control Technician to manage work zones across construction projects in California. You will focus on safety, install and maintain traffic control devices, and guide flaggers to ensure smooth traffic flow.

Qualified candidates have at least 1 year of experience, MUTCD guideline knowledge, and a valid driver’s license. Compensation ranges from $18 to $25 per hour, with benefits including 401(k), ESPP, life insurance, and disability coverage.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience in traffic control or similar role.
• Knowledge of MUTCD guidelines and traffic control devices.
• 500 hours of traffic control flagging experience.
• Valid driver's license; ability to obtain DOT Med card.
• Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to work safely in construction environments.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a consistent focus on safety during all tasks.
• Distribute traffic control signs and markers per pattern.
• Manage day-to-day work zone setup, maintenance, and tear down.
• Lift and place traffic cones up to 50 lbs.
• Assemble traffic control signs in proper order for work zones.
• Keep equipment in vehicles organized and functional.
• Coordinate with teammates on work zone setups and signaling.
