Job summary

Major Projects - Cat Rental is hiring a Work Tool Specialist to manage all work tools for Cat rental machines across the national footprint. You will be the primary internal contact for tools and liaison with Cat specialists, dealers, and customers.

You must communicate effectively, collaborate with teams, and ensure tools are properly prepared before delivery. This role requires travel and adherence to safety policies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 2-4 years purchasing or inventory management experience required.
• 1-3 years of administrative/clerical experience preferred.
• Familiarity with construction equipment and work tools/attachments is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Initiates orders for Cat and third-party work tools.
• Tracks new tools on order and communicates delivery status to sales, operations, and yard personnel.
• Receives tools into inventory system per ordering/receiving process.
• Maintains accurate tool descriptions, pricing, and serial numbers.
• Tracks tool maintenance and usage records.
• Performs or coordinates inventory at main stocking locations and supervises other locations.
• Assists with reconciliation of work tool inventory with accounting.
• Coordinates transportation for new tools from manufacturer to locations.
• Manage freight and warranty claims for work tools.
