Job summary

Chapman University is seeking a Tutor/Program Assistant (CCS) for Covenant School to support students under the Work-Study program. This on-campus role offers early-evening hours (up to 19 hours weekly) with a flexible schedule during the 2026-2027 academic year.

Undergrad students may apply. Start date is 09/21/2026 and end date 05/23/2027, with supervision by Shandy Bolton. Training and campus involvement are part of the position.

Qualifications

• Little to minimal prior experience.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Tutoring: Organize and prepare an engaging learning environment focused on academic subjects and responsibilities.
• Provide group tutoring sessions, assisting children in subjects such as literature, math, language arts, and physical education.
• Reinforce positive attitudes, social skills, and civic responsibility, encouraging youth to become active, informed members of their communities.
• Program Participation & Role Modeling: Promote program participation by engaging youth in both sports and educational activities, highlighting teamwork, discipline, and community involvement.
• Provide guidance and serve as a role model, demonstrating values of responsibility, respect, and commitment to both sportsmanship and civic engagement.
• Establish and maintain a safe environment with clear rules and expectations, ensuring that youth feel supported in their academic and athletic endeavors.
• Safety & Program Quality: Uphold the quality of both sports programs and academic support services, contributing to a well-rounded, holistic experience for all participants.
• Assist in additional duties as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and a commitment to the overall success of the program.
