Job summary

CSU Bakersfield is seeking an Instructional Student Assistant (Tutor) for The Kegley Center for Student Success to support Scholar-Athletes through required, scheduled, small-group tutoring across all subjects, focusing on lower-division General Education courses.

The role is part-time, in-person, open to CSUB students ( matriculated at least half-time ) with a 3.0+ GPA and junior status, who show initiative, integrity, empathy, patience, and creativity while engaging diverse student groups.

Qualifications

• CSUB student with at least half-time enrollment.
• 3.0 GPA or higher.
• Junior or higher standing.

Responsibilities

• Provide tutoring to Scholar-Athletes in small groups across all subjects, with emphasis on lower-division GE courses.
• Assist with mentoring and facilitating study sessions and learning strategies.
• Support CSUB Athletics Academic Support and adhere to NCAA staff regulations and academic integrity requirements.
