Job summary

University of North Texas at Dallas Learning Commons is seeking a Work Study Student Assistant to support tutoring spaces, greet students, and assist staff with clerical tasks. The role is aligned with the Learning Commons' mission to provide tutoring help in writing and STEM, under supervision of administrative staff.

Applicants must be work-study eligible and enrolled full- or part-time at UNT Dallas. Typical hours are MON-FRI 9A-10P and SAT 10A-9P, with a 12–19 hour per week preference.

Qualifications

• Must qualify as work-study eligible.
• Must be currently enrolled University of North Texas at Dallas student making satisfactory progress toward degree.

Responsibilities

• Keep tutoring areas clean, organized, and decorated.
• Attend and complete mandatory trainings.
• Work the assigned hours per week unless prior arrangements are made with supervisor.
• Assist in preparing resources and marketing materials for the Learning Commons including handouts, workshops, flyers, website content, social media posts, videos, etc.
• Assist administrative staff and professional tutors with special assignments, projects, and events.
• Assist administrative staff with inventory management and other clerical work.
• Refer students to Learning Commons resources and other academic services and departments as needed.
