The School-Based Navigational Coach serves as a trusted liaison among Ogden School District students and families, school personnel, and Weber State University. Assigned to district high schools and Weber State, coaches provide proactive, individualized, and culturally responsive guidance as students transition to postsecondary education.
Navigational coaches help graduating seniors complete essential steps for enrollment at Weber State, including admissions, FAFSA , financial aid, scholarships, personal statements, orientation, and connections to campus resources. They may also assist students entering grades 10–12 in applying to tuition-free summer bridge programs.
As visible representatives of Weber State, coaches must demonstrate professionalism, reliability, effective communication, and strong relationship-building skills. They proactively identify student needs, conduct outreach, follow up on outstanding requirements, coordinate with school counselors, college and career counselors, administrators, and other personnel, document interactions, and help students make measurable progress toward their postsecondary goals.
