Job summary

Eckerd Connects is seeking a candidate to support the School to Career/Work-based Learning program at the Pittsburgh Job Corps site. The role involves coordinating activities between center staff, employers, educators, and trainees to build effective work-based learning opportunities.

The position requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent youth-facing experience, with preference for supervisory experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or four years’ professional experience working with youth.
• Two years’ experience in marketing, sales, or counseling related areas.
• Prefer supervisory experience.
• Valid State driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Must pass a drug screen as part of policy.
• Nationwide criminal background check required.

Responsibilities

• Works with Center staff, employers, organized labor, and the community to establish positive work-based learning sites.
• Plans and coordinates activities to bring together appropriate persons to ensure program success.
• Generates work site opportunities matching trainees with employers’ requirements.
• Escorts potential employers on center tours and promotes the School to Career program.
• Liaises with centers, employers, schools and the military to coordinate training and work site learning.
• Oversees Industry Councils and Community Relations Council.
• Maintains relationships with state and local officials to uphold the Center’s image.
• Coordinates outreach with the National Job Corps Association.
• Schedules and transports trainees to work sites and counsels on evaluations.
• Serves as substitute teacher to support vocational instructors on site visits.

Education

Bachelor’s degree or four years’ professional experience working with youth

Two years’ experience in marketing, sales, or counseling related areas

Prefer supervisory experience
