Job summary

Blacksmith Agency is seeking a senior WordPress Tech Lead to manage end-to-end custom WordPress work for clients across the US. You will scope builds, lead themes/plugins/blocks, and drive efficiencies with AI while maintaining strong client relationships.

The role is fully remote (USA, Canada, Latin America or South Africa) and requires excellent English, with senior leadership responsibilities and hands-on coding.

Qualifications

• Strong custom WordPress and PHP development experience.
• Ability to scope work to a client's business goals and drive outcomes.
• Fluent in using AI to improve development efficiency and quality.
• Excellent client-facing communication and English proficiency.
• Experience leading or owning full builds, not just ticket work.

Responsibilities

• Scope client work against business objectives and set the build approach.
• Lead custom WordPress builds: themes, templates, plugins and blocks.
• Drive efficiency with AI across the development process.
• Be the development voice the client hears, and keep sites healthy.
