Job summary

Motum seeks a WordPress Developer who can independently build, launch, and optimize WordPress websites from the ground up, including custom themes, plugin development, and integrations.

You will own the full development lifecycle for client projects at a digital agency, collaborating with designers and PMs, mentoring juniors, and driving performance, security, and SEO in a fully remote LATAM-based role.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience building custom WordPress websites.
• Expert-level PHP, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, and MySQL.
• Fluent in WordPress core, theme/plugin development, and Gutenberg.
• Familiarity with REST APIs and integration workflows.
• Proficiency with Git and version control workflows.
• Strong understanding of SEO and security best practices.
• Experience with Elementor, Divi, or WPBakery (but able to code without them).
• Familiarity with Pardot, HubSpot, and email template customization.
• Excellent debugging, problem-solving, and documentation habits.

Responsibilities

• Build secure, scalable, and high-performing WordPress websites using custom themes and plugins.
• Translate UI/UX designs into fully functional WordPress frontends.
• Troubleshoot bugs, resolve plugin conflicts, and debug PHP or JS errors.
• Optimize performance, SEO, page speed, and security best practices.
• Integrate third-party APIs and tools such as Pardot or HubSpot.
• Own deployment and QA of all development tickets.
• Manage Git-based version control and contribute to codebase cleanliness.
• Mentor junior developers and support internal teams when needed.
