Job summary

Texas A&M AgriLife is seeking a Web Applications Developer II focused on WordPress and full-stack web development for AgriLife CMTS. You’ll build and maintain public-facing websites, APIs, and integrations, using modern WordPress practices including Gutenberg and block development.

The role emphasizes collaboration with developers, designers, and content managers, ensuring accessibility, performance, and cross‑browser compatibility across platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Four (4) years of web applications development experience with WordPress and web technologies (HTML, CSS, PHP, JavaScript).
• Strong communication and ability to work with stakeholders across teams.
• Proficiency in front-end and back-end WordPress development and site management.

Responsibilities

• Develop complex WordPress websites, themes, blocks, and plugins.
• Build front-end and back-end components using PHP, JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
• Collaborate with designers, content managers, and project leaders to deliver public-facing sites.
• Evaluate plugins/themes for security, performance, and accessibility; support WCAG compliance.
