Qualifications

• Two years full-time (or 4,000 total hours) of occupational experience in the program area.
• One year (or 2,000 hours) shall be within five (5) years prior to the date of appointment.
• One year (or 2,000 hours) may be waived for instructors with two years of post-secondary teaching in the appropriate field within five years.
• Exceptions must be approved by the Vice President of Learning/Chief Academic Officer.

• Learning Facilitation – foster student learning with diverse delivery methods (hybrid, in-person, virtual, online).
• Assessment – provide feedback and use data to improve outcomes and persistence.
• Curriculum Development – revise program materials to align with employer expectations.
• Classroom Management – manage schedule, attendance, grading, safety, and materials access.
• Team Participation – engage in division/department planning and budgeting activities.
• Business & Community Engagement – build relationships with industry and advisory partners.
• Student Success & Support – advise students on schedules, internships, and career info.
• Professional Development – pursue ongoing teaching improvements and new methods.
