Job summary

Hood Container Corporation seeks a skilled woodworker to join our team in Burgaw, NC. Woodworkers produce parts from lumber and synthetic wood, using automated machinery and handwork as needed, on an assembly-line setting with some custom tasks.

Responsibilities include operating woodworking equipment, reading shop drawings, assembling components, and maintaining safety and workstation organization. Prior woodworking experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Requires a strong knowledge of custom woodworking fabrication.
• Knowledge of and ability to operate miter saws, and other standard woodworking equipment.
• Ability to read tape measure and other measurement tools.
• Ability to read and interpret shop drawings.
• Ability to safely operate power tools, hand tools and woodworking equipment.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Organization of finished product, inventory counting and Quality Control.
• Safety consciousness.
• 2 years of prior work experience, preferred

Responsibilities

• Operate woodworking equipment to fabricate components
• Read and interpret shop drawings to insure accuracy of assembly
• Assemble components using adhesives and mechanical fasteners
• Abide by proper standard of work procedures and safety standards when operating hand tools and other machines or tools
• Assure proper organization and maintenance of workstation
