Job summary

California Closets designs premium space management solutions and delivers custom storage systems with exceptional service. The Machine Operator is responsible for setup, operation, monitoring, and basic troubleshooting of wood processing equipment to produce quality parts for shipping.

We offer 1st shift, M-F from 5:30a-1:30p, with hourly rates starting at $21.82, plus PTO, holidays, 401K matching, comprehensive health coverage, and life insurance.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to read and interpret basic mathematical measurements and use/read a tape measure.
• Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and stand for long periods.
• Visual acuity to read instructions, operate machines and inspect parts produced.
• Ability to perform essential duties satisfactorily; reasonable accommodations may be made.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment following all safety processes established within the facility.
• Produce the required quality & quantity of parts within established specifications to maximize daily productivity.
• Maintain a log and records of units produced including errors resulting in rejects or discards.
• Inspect equipment prior to use to ensure proper setup and alignment and perform basic adjustments and maintenance.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work area.
• Check products per policy to ensure quality and alert line lead of issues.
• Handle on/off-loading of products for eight or more hours daily.
• Produce quality and error-free work.
• Ensure proper storage of materials in the warehouse.

Job Description

The Machine Operator is responsible for the setup, operation, monitoring, and basic troubleshooting of wood processing equipment. This role includes using wood processing equipment such as automated panel saws, edge banders, CNC routing & drilling equipment, and packing equipment.

1st Shift: M-F5:30a-1:30p

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Operate equipment following all safety processes established within the facility.
• Produce the required quality & quantity of parts within established specifications to maximize daily productivity expectations of boards being shipped.
• Maintain a log and records of units produced including a record of errors resulting in rejected or discarded pieces.
• Inspect equipment prior to use to ensure proper setup and alignment and perform basic and routine adjustments and maintenance.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work area.
• Check products per company policy to ensure quality and uniform completion and resolve any identified problems and alert line lead.
• Responsible for on/off-loading of products such as tables, rolling racks, or wood crates for eight or more hours, daily.
• Produce quality and error-free work.
• Ensure proper storage of materials in the warehouse.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to work in all assigned areas of production and perform relief duties when required.
• Ability to read and interpret basic mathematical measurements and use/read a tape measure.
• Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, ability to frequently stoop, bend and kneel, often reach with hand and arms and grasp, and be able to constantly stand.
• Need to have visual acuity to read instructions, operate machines and inspect parts produced.
