Job summary

Fleetwood Group, Inc. is seeking a Machine Operator in the Furniture division to operate woodworking equipment and follow drawings to spec.

You will set up and run panel saws, CNC machines, edge banders, and other machinery, perform quality checks, and maintain 5S in a safe environment. Experience with measuring tools and reading blueprints is a plus; teamwork and adaptability are essential in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• Ability to use measuring tools such as calipers, gauges, and tape measures.
• Ability to work cooperatively within a team and with other teams.
• Willingness to adapt to a continually changing environment.
• Stand, walk, and use hands for the duration of the shift.
• Lift up to 25 lbs., and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
• Competent in basic math such as counting, adding, and subtracting.

Responsibilities

JOB DESCRIPTION

Title: Machine Operator

Division: Furniture

General Purpose:

Under limited supervision, operates machinery and uses various processes and equipment to fabricate, manufacture, or move wood products while meeting all necessary specifications and quality control standards. Performs set ups, follows written instructions, and reads drawing specifications for multiple types of machinery.

Essential Functions:

• Following Standard Work Instructions, operates multiple types of production machines involving close tolerances, and set-ups of parts of irregular shapes.
• Loads sheets of wood and operates machinery such as panel saws, nesters, CNC machines, straight-line edge banders, contour banders and/or OMAL’s.
• Reads and interprets dimensions and other information from all types of drawings.
• Completes daily and necessary paperwork.
• Consistently performs quality checks by utilizing measurement tools and devices such as tape rulers, gauges and/or calipers.
• Maintains a clean, safe working environment according to 5S and department safety guidelines.
