Job summary

State of Wisconsin seeks a Woodworking/Construction Teacher for the new Juvenile Type 1 Facility in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The role focuses on delivering a formal CTE program, assessing student progress, and providing remediation within a high-need juvenile population.

Responsibilities include instruction, documentation, record evaluation, behavior management, and participation in staffings. Certification/licensure in Technology Education or Woodworking is required, with licensure within twelve

Qualifications

• Certification or eligibility for certification in Technology Education (#1220) teaching licensure through the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction.
• Certification or eligibility for certification by the Wisconsin Technical College System in #409 (woodworking).
• Eligibility must obtain full licensure or certification within the first twelve months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement an educational program tailored to the CTE needs of male and/or female juvenile offenders.
• Provide individual and group instruction and evaluate student progress.
• Prescribe remediation and academic support as needed and complete required documentation and reports.
• Evaluate academic records in a timely manner and monitor student behavior.
• Attend relevant institutional staffings/meetings and participate in continuous improvement.
• Work twelve months out of the year as part of the instructional team.
