Job summary

Weir Group in Candler, Florida is seeking a Woodworker/Patternmaker to build, assemble, modify, and repair wooden patterns onsite. You will read blueprints, use calipers/micrometers for QC, and support pattern shop production. The role emphasizes hands-on work, safety, and independence in a dense shop environment.

Experience with CNC equipment and CAD software is a plus. This position offers onsite work with opportunities to contribute to sustainable mining technologies and end-to-end pattern

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in woodworking, cabinetry, or related skilled trades.
  • Ability to read and interpret basic engineering drawings.
  • Strong measurement skills with calipers and micrometers.
  • Willingness to learn in a hands-on shop environment.

Responsibilities

  • Pattern Construction: Build, assemble, modify, and repair wooden patterns, fixtures, and related shop components.
  • Blueprint Interpretation: Read and follow blueprints and specifications.
  • Quality Control: Perform dimensional inspections to ensure patterns meet specs.
  • Tooling Maintenance: Operate woodworking equipment and assist CNC setup.
  • Production Support: Prepare materials for production, including cutting, sanding, and finishing.
  • Safety First: Commit to zero-harm safety culture.
  • Travel Requirements: Minimal travel; onsite pattern shop.
