Fargo Vocational Training Center in Fargo, ND is seeking a hands-on Woodshop Production Specialist – Retail. You will lead our retail wood products line and support adults with IDD to build vocational and social skills alongside you.

Responsibilities include overseeing daily production, pricing support, inventory control, and safety. Position offers a day shift, paid training, and full benefits.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Satisfactory results on all required background checks.
• Proficient with MS Word, Excel, Outlook and electronic documentation systems.
• Ability to use a tape measure and follow written/verbal instructions.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Reliable attendance is required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily production of retail wood products from scheduling to quality checks.
• Set retail/pricing and support marketing to grow the line.
• Keep inventory, pricing and production records up to date.
• Monitor woodshop equipment for safety and maintenance.
• Model safe work practices and use PPE.
• Engage with adults with IDD in vocational and social activities.
• Assist individuals with personal care needs as needed.
• Document program data in Therap and MITC systems.
• Contribute to individuals' annual planning process.
• Complete required competency modules per ND HHSS—DD.

The Vocational Training Center (VTC) of Fargo, ND is looking for a hands-on, organized team player to join us as a full-time Woodshop Production Specialist – Retail.

In this role, you’ll lead our retail line of handcrafted wood products and support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities as they build vocational and social skills alongside you.

Responsibilities of this position will include:

• Overseeing daily production of VTC’s retail wood products, from scheduling to quality checks
• Helping set retail and promotional pricing, and supporting marketing efforts to grow the retail line
• Keeping inventory, pricing, and production records up to date
• Monitoring woodshop equipment for safety and maintenance needs
• Modeling safe work practices and supporting individuals in using personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Guiding and engaging with adults who have intellectual/developmental disabilities in vocational and social activities
• Assisting individuals with personal care needs
• Documenting program data in electronic systems (Therap, MITC)
• Contributing to individuals’ annual planning process
• Completing the competency-based modules required by North Dakota Health and Human Services, Developmental Disabilities

Other duties not listed above may be assigned.

Required:

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Satisfactory results on all required background checks
• Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and electronic documentation systems
• Ability to use a tape measure and follow written and verbal instructions
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
• Reliable Attendance is required of this position

Preferred:

• Previous experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities or mental illness
• Experience with power equipment in a woodshop setting
• Forklift certification (we’ll train if needed)
• Woodshop setting with noise, dust, and moving machinery. PPE is provided and required.
