Job summary

Siletz Valley School is seeking a qualified CTE Woodshop teacher to deliver hands-on woodworking and carpentry instruction to students. The role emphasizes a safe shop, standards-aligned lessons, and collaboration with CTE coordinators and staff.

The ideal candidate will hold an Oregon teaching license with a CTE endorsement in woodworking or carpentry, and maintain OSHA‑compliant practices. This position reports to the Principal of Siletz Valley School and follows the SVS Licensed Salary

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret safety rules and manuals.
• Ability to write lesson plans, reports, and correspondence.
• Ability to apply measurement and geometry in practical projects.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations in an educational shop.

Responsibilities

• Develops and implements lesson plans aligned with Oregon standards for woodworking, construction and carpentry.
• Maintains a safe, organized shop environment conducive to hands‑on learning.
• Assesses student progress with evaluations, projects and demonstrations; provides feedback.
• Collaborates with educators and administration to enhance curriculum and share best practices.
• Ensures shop activities comply with OSHA regulations and district safety standards.
• Keeps up-to-date with industry trends to provide relevant instruction.
• Manages classroom materials and equipment inventory; coordinates repairs as needed.
