Sumner Memorial High School seeks a collaborative Carpentry Instructor to lead the HCTC Carpentry program. The role focuses on hands-on teaching, industry partnerships, and real-world learning experiences that connect classroom content to career pathways.

You will align instruction with NCCER standards, differentiate for student needs, and develop employability skills through projects, site visits, and industry engagement.

Qualifications

• Must hold or be eligible for Maine Department of Education Vocational Teacher Certification.
• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred for higher salary bands.
• Experience teaching carpentry or related trades to high school students.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operations of the HCTC Carpentry program with hands-on instruction.
• Foster a safe, productive learning environment and build relationships with students.
• Collaborate with administration, teachers, counselors, and industry partners.
