Job summary

The AMES Companies, Inc. in McClure, PA, is seeking a Woodmill Operator 3 - 1st Shift (Mon-Fri, 6:00am-2:30pm) to operate decksaw, debarker, forklift, dowler, and related sawmill equipment under supervision of foreman.

You will perform daily safety checks, maintain equipment, cut logs to length, inspect quality of handles, and coordinate with yard staff to meet production schedules in a busy woodmill environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, or equivalent experience.
• Ability to perform basic math (add, subtract, multiply, and divide).
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions.
• Industrial lift truck certification.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain the debarker and decksaw; record logs and saw settings.
• Operate forklift; load, unload, and move materials and pallets.
• Operate ripsaw/plank deck; ensure quality and proper cuts.
• Perform daily safety checks and equipment maintenance.
• Coordinate with foreman and yard staff to meet production schedules.
