Job summary

AHF Products is hiring a Utility operator at our Smoot, WV sawmill. You will operate key sawmill equipment including Trim-saw, Edger, Gangsaw, Chipper, and Debarker to ensure efficient and safe processing of logs and lumber.

Reporting to the Mill Supervisor, you will perform setup/calibration, monitor equipment, and assist with inventory and finished lumber preparation. Willingness to work in a physically demanding, team-driven environment is essential.

Qualifications

• Background check, employment verification and drug screening required.
• Positive and verifiable work history.
• Previous sawmill experience.
• Experience operating sawmill equipment such as Trim-saw, Edger, Gangsaw, Chipper, and Debarker.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent time management to meet deadlines.
• Ability to work well in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor key sawmill equipment to ensure safe processing of logs and lumber.
• Assist setup, calibration, and adjustment of machinery to meet production specs.
• Perform routine checks on equipment and report issues to maintenance.
• Sort, stack, and transfer processed lumber to designated areas.
• Keep work areas clean and safe, comply with safety standards.
• Assist with inventory, labeling, and prep of finished lumber for shipment.
• Provide general labor across mill operations as needed.
