National Salvage & Service Corporation is seeking a Wood Yard Manager to lead all daily operations at the Birmingham wood processing facility. The role emphasizes production management, safety, quality, and cost control in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of management experience in manufacturing or related industrial settings, strong leadership and communication skills, and a solid background in budgeting and QA practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Engineering, or related field is required.
• Master’s degree is preferred but not required.
• Minimum 5 years of management experience in manufacturing or related industrial environments.
• Proven leadership ability to motivate and manage diverse teams.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with budgeting, financial oversight, and operational reporting.
• Knowledge of QA practices and process improvement methodologies.
• Basic mechanical troubleshooting and equipment knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead, develop, and manage production teams for wood processing operations.
• Coordinate scheduling, logistics, and workflow to maximize efficiency.
• Oversee budgeting, cost control, and financial performance.
• Ensure safety procedures and operational standards are met.
• Drive continuous improvement and quality assurance initiatives.
• Perform basic mechanical troubleshooting and coordinate repairs.
