The Wood Yard Manager at National Salvage & Service Corporation will oversee daily operations at our Wood Processing Facility in Birmingham, Alabama. You will lead production teams, schedule personnel, coordinate logistics, and drive continuous improvements while ensuring safety and quality standards.

We value strong leadership, budget oversight, and collaboration across departments to meet company objectives and maintain excellent customer and vendor relationships.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Engineering, or related field; Master’s preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of management experience in manufacturing, processing, railroad, or related industrial environments.
• Proven leadership with the ability to motivate and manage diverse teams.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with budgeting, financial oversight, and operational reporting.
• Knowledge of quality assurance practices and process improvement methodologies.
• Basic mechanical troubleshooting and operational equipment knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead, develop, and manage production teams while fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
• Direct daily production operations and personnel scheduling; maximize efficiency.
• Coordinate logistics and workflow to improve productivity and maintain safety.
• Monitor facility performance and implement operational improvements.
• Oversee budgeting, cost control, and financial performance.
• Maintain accurate operational records and reports.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives throughout the facility.
• Perform basic mechanical troubleshooting and coordinate repairs as needed.
