Job summary

Colonial Williamsburg Foundation seeks a baker with a culinary degree in baking and pastry to lead daily production in taverns and grab-and-go locations. You will handle diverse doughs, sauces, and aerated products, while ensuring quality and safety in a fast-paced setting.

Preferred candidates have 3-5 years of similar experience, knowledge of baker's math, and experience with wood-fired ovens. Valid Virginia driver's license required.

Qualifications

• Culinary program degree in baking and pastry.
• 3-5 years of similar experience.
• Ability to scale formulas using baker's math.
• Experience baking in wood-fired ovens.
• Train associates to bake standard items using a wood fired oven.

Responsibilities

• Daily production of menu items for taverns and grab-and-go locations.
• Knowledge of special dietary requirements.
• Knowledge and proficiency of basic mixing techniques (cake batters, breads, cookies).
• Proficiency to produce sauces, creams, and aerated products.
• Finish daily production and maintain sanitary workstation.
• Accurate scaling and measuring according to bakers’ math.
• Monitor quality of ingredients and displays.
