Job summary

UNC Health’s Women’s Health Staffing Response Team (SRT) is seeking an RN with postpartum and Labor & Delivery experience for per diem rotations across UNC Rex Raleigh and UNC Rex Holly Springs. You will deliver evidence-based nursing care to newborns, postpartum mothers, and families in Level II Intermediate Care Nursery and the Postpartum Unit, rotating between facilities.

Ideal candidates have about 1 year of relevant experience, NC RN licensure, and BLS.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a school of professional nursing.
• Licensed to practice as an RN in North Carolina.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers.
• One year of relevant and current experience required.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct nursing care to newborns in intermediate care and to postpartum mothers and families.
• Performs assessments, monitoring, documentation, and evaluates patient responses to care.
• Educates families on infant care, feeding, safe sleep, and discharge planning.
• Collaborates with physicians, neonatologists, nurse practitioners, midwives, OB/GYNs, NICU staff, lactation consultants, and support staff.
• Maintains accurate documentation in the electronic health record.
• Participates in learning and performance improvement activities.
