Job summary

UNC Health Care's Women’s Health Staffing Response Team is seeking nurses with postpartum and Level II nursery experience to support UNC REX Raleigh and UNC REX Holly Springs. The RN provides patient-centered care to newborns and postpartum mothers in Level II Nursery and Postpartum units.

Qualifications

Graduation from a school of professional nursing.
Licensed as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina.
Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification.
One year of relevant and current experience.

Responsibilities

Provide direct nursing care to newborns and postpartum mothers in Level II Nursery and Postpartum units.
Work across multiple units and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams.
Monitor and manage mild respiratory distress, jaundice, feeding difficulties, and temperature instability.
Educate families on infant care, feeding, safe sleep, and discharge planning.
Document and evaluate patient responses in the electronic health record.
Maintain flexibility in staffing assignments and ensure safe transitions across sites.
