Job summary

Henrico Doctors' Hospital is seeking a Women’s Services Community Instructor to identify educational needs, plan classes for patients and evaluate programs. You will work with Women’s Administration and Patient Navigation, develop new courses based on feedback, and ensure compliance with ongoing education requirements.

The role requires an RN license in Virginia or a compact license, BLS, and prior hospital teaching experience; BSN preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (BSN preferred).
• Current RN license in Virginia or a compact license.
• Current BLS certification.
• Minimum of three years hospital clinical experience.
• Minimum of one year recent teaching experience in a hospital setting.
• Experience as a Labor and Delivery nurse and/or prepared childbirth instructor certification required.

Responsibilities

• Based upon the educational evaluations, you will also recommend new courses or improvements based on feedback received.
• As an instructor, you will maintain appropriate certification and annual education requirements as well as utilize opportunities for personal and professional growth.
• You will assist with miscellaneous community programs/projects.
• Maintaining accurate departmental records as related to educational programs is a daily requirement.

Job Summary and Qualifications

At Henrico Doctors’ Hospital, our Women’s Services Community Instructor assists Women’s Administration and Patient Navigation in identifying educational needs, appropriate programs and in-services for patients within our community. While planning and implementing a variety of classes for patients/programs as community needs arise, you will also evaluate educational programs through formal & informal mechanisms.
