Job summary

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree or some college preferred.
• 1-year minimum experience with target population preferred.
• Knowledge of substance abuse/addiction issues preferred.
• Obtain Peer Recovery Specialist certification within one year of starting.
• Proficient computer skills: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
• Valid Driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Provide client supervision in a structured, supportive treatment environment.
• Assist clients in articulating personal recovery goals in one-to-one and group sessions.
• Assist clients in coordinating steps with their treatment team for self-directed recovery.
• Set up and sustain self-help groups and locate existing groups.
• Lead aftercare group and related events.
• Model coping techniques and self-help strategies for clients.
• Provide timely, professional documentation for each client interaction.
• Attend meetings and trainings as assigned by supervisor.
• Be available to residents for immediate concerns or needs; respond appropriately.
• Perform urine drug screens and breathalyzer tests as assigned.

Education
