Job summary

Ascension is hiring a Medical Assistant in Austin, TX for the Women’s Health department. The role is full-time, day shift, Monday–Friday, 8 AM–5 PM, on site in the Lamar Building.

You will prepare exam rooms, capture vital signs, and document patient information to support the care team throughout visits. A BLS certification and 1–2 years MA experience are preferred, with experience in Women’s Health or OB/Gyn considered a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire required.
• 1–2 years of MA experience preferred.
• Women’s Health, OB/Gyn, or Family Medicine experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the clinical flow by preparing exam rooms and prioritizing patient transitions.
• Measure vital signs and interview patients to provide real-time clinical context.
• Transcribe diagnoses, orders, and follow-up instructions into the patient record.
• Manage supplies to ensure uninterrupted patient care.
