Job summary

Ascension in Austin, TX is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to support the Women’s Health department. You will prepare exam rooms, take vital signs, document patient information, and help the care team deliver seamless, compassionate care.

This role emphasizes accurate clinical documentation and efficient patient flow through the clinic. The position requires a valid BLS certification and one or more MA credentials, with education/experience meeting the program requirements.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider credential to be obtained within 1 month of hire date.
• One or more MA credentials from: AAMA, AMT, NCCT, NHA, AAHA/NCHPA/other recognized bodies, within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Lead the clinical flow by preparing exam rooms and prioritizing patient transitions to ensure a seamless, stress-free experience for both the provider and the patient.
• Capture the patient's story by accurately measuring vital signs and interviewing patients to ensure real-time clinical picture before every consultation.
• Master clinical documentation by transcribing diagnoses, orders, and follow-up instructions into the patient record to ensure accuracy of the care journey.
• Manage essential supplies and materials to keep the care team equipped for uninterrupted patient care.
