Job summary

Description

Joint Staff J5 Counter Threats and International Cooperation (DDCTIC) is seeking a highly skilled and proactive Data Management Specialist. This position you will be a full-time member of Joint Staff J5 and Identify, acquire, and engineer access to mission-critical data sources from across the DoW and interagency partners; design, build, and maintain automated data pipelines to ingest, clean, and integrate this information into a centralized repository.

Key Responsibilities
  • Publish and manage curated datasets as discoverable assets within the J5 Data Catalog, ensuring they are documented, standardized, and readily available for analysts and decision-makers across the directorate.
  • Further develop and maintain Women Peace and Security AI agents
  • Continue data collection for annual reporting
Requirements
  • TS/SC
  • Have a minimum of five (5) years of function-related experience at the operational or strategic level. Experience must demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of DoD organization and operations. Required experience includes joint doctrine, strategic planning, the operational planning process, and DoD security cooperation. Experience conducting WPS-informed sociocultural analysis is highly recommended.
  • A minimum of three years of experience leading data-centric programs, with demonstrated expertise in designing and implementing enterprise data strategy, architecture, and governance. Must possess proven, hands‑on mastery of data engineering, including building and maintaining secure data pipelines and managing data warehouse solutions in a cloud environment (e.g., AWS, Azure)
  • Master’s degree or higher in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related quantitative field. Must demonstrate expert‑level proficiency with data programming languages (e.g., Python, R) and the development of interactive dashboards for senior leadership using visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)
  • Maintain proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite
  • Be able to prepare and present materials to Flag Officers, General Officers, or Senior Executive Service (SES) members.
