UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, TX is seeking a Wound Care RN (WOCN) to work in an inpatient setting under supervision. The role requires RN licensure in Texas, BLS, and CWON within 3 years; CWOCN/WCC/CWS/CWCN certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• 1 year of RN experience; specialty areas may have increased requirements as dictated by unit or standard of care.
• Licensure: Texas (or BNE Compact) RN license upon hire; BLS certification upon hire.
• CWON required within 3 years of hire date; CWOCN, WCC, CWS, CWCN certifications preferred or required per role.

Responsibilities

• Perform wound care assessments and document findings for all assigned patients.
• Develop and implement an appropriate plan of care using critical thinking and prioritization.
• Ensure accurate and timely documentation of interventions; collaborate with health care team.
• Promote continuity of safe/effective care across shifts and units.
• Evaluate interventions and modify the plan as needed; document changes promptly.
• Adhere to hospital policies and wound care standards; provide patient education.
• Supervise unlicensed staff and nurses; delegate duties within legal guidelines.
