Job summary

McKesson is seeking a WMS Digital Software Engineer in Irving, TX to design, develop, and deliver modern software solutions that support Distribution Center operations. The role focuses on digital application development, APIs, and event-driven architecture, with a path to learn RPGLE and IBM i legacy concepts.

You will work across technical teams, business partners, and vendors, employing automation, CI/CD, and testing to improve warehouse technology reliability and interoperability.

Qualifications

• Hands-on software development experience using Java, Python, Node.js, JavaScript/TypeScript, or PHP.
• Experience designing, developing, or consuming REST APIs and service integrations.
• Experience with SQL, relational databases, and microservices architecture.
• Knowledge of the SDLC, Agile delivery, DevOps, and version-control workflows.
• Experience with automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and release management.
• Willingness to learn RPGLE, CLLE, and the IBM i (AS400) legacy environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, debug, and manage WMS solutions for McKesson Distribution Centers.
• Implement integrations across applications and platforms to ensure interoperability.
• Apply DevOps and Agile practices to deliver functionality quickly and reliably.
• Lead code reviews, technical design discussions, and documentation efforts.
• Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to resolve issues and improve systems.
• Mentor teammates and contribute to technical roadmaps and best practices.
