Job summary

McKesson is seeking a Sr. Software Developer for Warehouse Management Systems to develop and support WMS applications in distribution centers. You’ll work on integrations, automation, AI/ML opportunities, and partner with IT and vendors to deliver scalable solutions.

Ideal candidates have 7+ years in .NET/ASP.NET MVC, Docker/Kubernetes, cloud IaC (Terraform), and Kafka experience, with strong communication and collaboration skills in a fast-paced team environment.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of relevant experience.
• Advanced .NET (C# and VB) programming skills, ASP.NET MVC.
• Experience in Windows Client/Server environments.
• Advanced ASP Classic, JavaScript, VB Script or equivalent scripting.
• Hands-on with microservices architecture and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience with cloud platforms (GCP, Azure) and Terraform IaC.
• Deep understanding of Apache Kafka for event-driven data processing.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the full software development lifecycle to deliver scalable applications and integrations.
• Partner with IT teams, stakeholders, and vendors to design and deliver productive solutions.
• Analyze processes to identify automation, analytics, or AI/ML opportunities.
• Translate business requirements into technical architectures with cross-functional teams.
• Troubleshoot complex application and integration issues while minimizing disruption.
• Configure, upgrade, and patch systems; ensure security, scalability and maintainability.
• Ensure code quality, reusability, and engineering best practices.
• Create documentation including AI models, data flows, and automation logic.
• Promote modern engineering practices and continuous improvement.
• Participate in agile processes: sprint planning, code reviews, CI/CD.
• Build robust integrations using APIs, messaging queues, and middleware.
• Stay current with AI, cloud, and WMS trends; propose enhancements.
