Job summary

McKesson seeks a Sr. Software Developer for Warehouse Management Systems to drive development and support of applications across distribution centers. You will collaborate with IT, vendors, and internal teams to deliver scalable, secure software and integrations that improve productivity and operational insight.

The role emphasizes modern engineering practices, AI/ML opportunities, and agile processes, with a focus on delivering robust WMS solutions in a complex distributed environment.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of relative experience in software development.
• Advanced .Net (C# and VB) programming skills, ASP.NET MVC.
• Experience with Windows Client/Server environments.
• Proficient in ASP Classic, JavaScript, VB Script or equivalent scripting tech.
• Hands-on with microservices and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Cloud experience (GCP, Azure) and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).

Responsibilities

• Participate in full SDLC including requirements, design, development, testing, deployment and support.
• Collaborate with IT, business stakeholders and vendors to deliver solutions that boost productivity and insights.
• Analyze processes to identify opportunities for automation, analytics, or AI/ML enhancements.
• Translate business requirements into technical architectures with architects and ops teams.
• Troubleshoot complex issues and ensure secure, scalable, maintainable solutions.
• Configure, upgrade, patch, and maintain systems while ensuring security and reliability.
• Ensure code quality and maintainability; document architecture and data flows.
• Promote modern engineering practices and responsible AI adoption within agile sprints.
• Build robust integrations using APIs, messaging queues, and middleware.
• Stay current with AI, cloud, data engineering, and WMS trends; propose innovations.
• Manage multiple priorities balancing delivery, innovation, and stability.
