Job summary

Global Systems Engineering (GSE), an Intreped Partners company, is recruiting an subject matter expert in clandestine laboratory safety, EPC, and hazardous material investigations to support FBI DPU training initiatives. The position is remote within the United States with frequent CONUS travel and occasional international travel.

The start date is August 2026; candidates must be US citizens and able to complete an FBI background check.

Qualifications

US Citizenship
PhD in a relevant discipline
Certified Bomb Technician, EOD badge holder, or licensed commercial blaster
Experience in chemical trace analysis and analytical method development
Experience in curriculum development, implementation, and training on EPC/TIC threats
Expert in improvised explosives (IE) with emphasis on synthesis and detection
Expert on clandestine laboratories and post-blast demonstrations
Travel is expected with frequent CONUS and occasional OCONUS travel

Responsibilities

Attend training events as SME at various locations (CONUS/OCONUS).
Deliver lectures, case studies, demonstrations, and hands-on lab exercises to teach chemical, biological, and explosive science and security to government standards.
Provide classroom and scenario-based training on improvised explosives and lab detection.
Assist in setting up simulations and demonstrations of WMD mock laboratory exercises.
Brief on emerging CBRNE threats and participate in panels as directed.
Present information on IE, EPCs, TICs, and hazard investigations.
Teach proper safety procedures when working with CBRNE materials and biosecurity lab principles.
Collaborate with DPU industry partners to strengthen WMD knowledge across federal, state, local, tribal, private sector, academia, and international counterparts.
Provide expertise to develop and update curriculum.
