Job summary

UW-Stevens Point’s College of Natural Resources seeks an experienced forestry leader to serve as Director of the Wisconsin Forestry Center (WFC) and faculty member in Forestry. This full-time, 12-month tenure-track position blends leadership, applied research, Extension outreach, grant development, and undergraduate teaching.

You’ll oversee WFC programs, secure external funding, build partnerships with forestry professionals and stakeholders, and guide workforce development and community

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Forestry or a terminal business degree with forestry applications.
• Demonstrated record of securing and implementing external grants and contracts.
• Experience leading forestry programs and managing budgets and partnerships.

Responsibilities

• Lead Wisconsin Forestry Center programs, personnel, budgets, facilities, and strategic initiatives.
• Develop and secure external funding for forestry research and outreach.
• Build partnerships with forestry professionals and stakeholders across Wisconsin and beyond.
• Lead Extension, workforce development, and community outreach programs.
• Mentor undergraduate and graduate students.
• Teach up to 2 undergraduate courses per academic year.
• Represent UW-Stevens Point and Extension Forestry at state, regional, and national levels.
