Job summary

University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point invites applications for a full-time, nine-month, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Forestry. The position emphasizes forest biometrics and the development and teaching of courses in forest inventory, data analysis, and GIS/remote sensing, with opportunities to teach fire applications.

The candidate will teach 12 credits per semester, engage in research and scholarship, and provide service to the College and professional organizations. A Ph.D.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Forestry or closely related field required by start date (Aug 25, 2027 or negotiable).
• Preferred: an additional post-secondary degree in Forestry (B.S. or Master's).
• Demonstrated teaching experience in forest inventory or related data modeling methods.

Responsibilities

• Teaching 12 credits per semester (forestry and natural resources data analysis; inventory; potential GIS/remote sensing courses).
• Research & Scholarship: active engagement in natural resource data analysis and use of advancing technology; pursue external funding.
• Service: contribute to College/University committees and professional organizations; advise students.
