Job summary

Rural Mutual Insurance Company is hiring an Insurance Agent to help Wisconsin families, farms and businesses protect what matters most. You will build relationships, assess insurance needs, and present solutions across Wisconsin.

We offer a base salary, commissions, bonus opportunities, training, and ongoing coaching. Licensed agents can expect $75,000–$85,000 in the first year, with a total compensation range of $48,000–$85,000 base plus commissions.

Qualifications

• Must be able to build and nurture client relationships.
• Strong ability to clearly explain insurance concepts.
• Ability to network with local businesses and homeowners.
• Excellent organizational skills to manage databases and records.
• Stay informed about policy changes and market trends.
• Sales experience and goal-oriented mindset are valued.
• Licensed in property, casualty, and life, or willing to obtain within 60 days.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain relationships with customers, understanding needs, and offering trusted guidance.
• Identify risks and coverage needs, recommending suitable insurance solutions.
• Develop and execute a business development plan to grow a book of business.
• Engage with the community through events and partnerships to expand client base.
• Collaborate with underwriting and internal teams to deliver solutions.
• Provide responsive customer service and resolve issues throughout the customer journey.
• Continuously update industry knowledge to adapt to changing customer needs.
