Job summary

The Wiring Technician at Miller Industries will assemble, install and test complex wiring harnesses and electrical systems for heavy-duty tow trucks. You’ll ensure all components are wired correctly and operate safely.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED and 1–3 months wiring experience; expect to work with hand tools and test equipment, with opportunities for training and advancement in a climate-controlled, 4-on/4-off environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent experience.
  • 1–3 months wiring experience and/or training; or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of basic math for measurements and calculations.
  • Knowledge of hand tools including pneumatic and power tools for installation tasks.
  • Understand hydraulics and 12-volt DC electrical systems.

Responsibilities

  • Measure, cut, strip, crimp, and terminate wires with precision.
  • Test and troubleshoot wiring or component issues.
  • Assemble and wire electrical control panels, circuit breakers, switches, etc.
  • Troubleshoot electrical issues to meet quality standards.
  • Maintain a safe, organized workspace and follow safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with team to meet production goals and deadlines.
  • Must have basic hand tools.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Summary: The Wiring Technician will assemble, install and test complex wiring harnesses and electrical systems to produce heavy-duty tow trucks. The technician will ensure all components are wired correctly and function safely.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Measure, cut, strip, crimp, and terminate wires with precision using hand and power tools.
  • Conduct testing and troubleshooting on completed assemblies to identify and correct faulty wiring or component issues.
  • Assemble and wire electrical control panels, circuit breakers, switches, and other electronic components according to specifications.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical issues, making necessary repairs or adjustments to ensure all systems meet quality standards.
  • Oversee a safe workspace to ensure work areas are clean and organized, including tools and equipment, to include all safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with team members to work effectively to ensure production goals and deadlines are met.
  • Must have basic hand tools (wrenches, ratchets, sockets, wiring tools, etc.).
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or equivalent experience.
  • One to two years’ related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of basic math skills for measurements and calculations.
  • Required knowledge on a variety of hand tools, to include pneumatic tools, power tools, and specialized equipment to complete installation tasks.
  • Must understand hydraulics and 12-volt DC electrical systems.

Education and Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months wiring experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have basic computer skills.
